Warning of rain and possible flooding for Plymouth
A Met Office warning of rain and possible flooding remains in place on Monday morning (11 November) following overnigh weather conditions.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain for the whole of south west England. The forecast is as follows:
Rain spreading eastwards across the UK during Sunday night will become persistent and often heavy in some areas during Monday before clearing later in the day.
The public should be aware of the potential for localised flooding across Devon and Cornwall on Monday.
An Atlantic frontal system will push east across the UK on Sunday night and during Monday, bringing widespread rain which may persist for much of Monday in some southern areas. Highest rainfall accumulations are likely to be in western parts, and current saturated ground conditions and high river levels in parts of Devon and Cornwall means that there is potential for some minor disruption due to river flooding here.
A yellow warning tells the public to 'be aware' that severe weather is possible over the next few days and could affect you. Yellow means that you should plan ahead thinking about possible travel delays, or the disruption of your day to day activities. The Met Office is monitoring the developing weather situation and Yellow means keep an eye on the latest forecast and be aware that the weather may change or worsen, leading to disruption of your plans in the next few days.
