Woman assaulted in Greenbank
Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a woman walking alone along Hospital Road in Greenbank in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday 8 January 2014.
A man approached the 21-year-old woman at around 12.45am and grabbed her around the throat and pushed her against a wall.
When she screamed, he ran off along Hospital Road in the direction of the university.
The suspect is described as having tanned skin, aged between 35 and 40, 5ft 4ins, chubby build, with very closely shaven dark hair. He has a round face with dark eyes and was wearing a dark hooded top.
DC Sally Pritchard, based at Charles Cross, said: “We don’t know what the motive was for this assault but the victim is very shaken up and we need the public’s help in finding him.”
