Schoolboys arrested on suspicion of chicken killings
Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that three boys have been released on bail after the theft and death of three pet chickens following a break-in at a local school.
The boys, who are 12, 13 and 15 years of age, were arrested on suspicion of stealing and stamping the birds to death. The dead chickens stolen from the Brook Green Centre for Learning in Bodmin Road, Whitleigh, were discovered on Saturday nearby.
It is understood that the special school has received an offer of a donation of four new chickens from a local resident.
The three boys, from Plymouth and Saltash, are expected to answer police bail today and tomorrow.
