Argyle begin pre-season with victory against Elburton Villa

Two penalties, one from new boy Marvin Morgan and one from returning boy Reuben Reid, consolidated an 18th minute opener from Matt Lecointe to give Plymouth Argyle victory in their pre-season encounter at locals Elburton.

Manager John Sheridan will be satisfied with a solid start to preparations for the new League Two season with only an injury to Tuomas Rannankari spoiling the party. The on-trial Finnish international may miss out on the important pre-season period as a result.

Argyle made a number of changes in the second half and blooded new signings Morgan, Dominic Blizzard and goalkeeper Luke McCormick.
