Argyle secure second senior player as Jake Cole signs a new deal

Plymouth Argyle have confirmed that they have secured the services of 27-year-old goalkeeper Jake Cole.

Cole expressed his delight at penning a new contract and becomes the second senior player to commit his future to Argyle ahead of the 2013/14 season after skipper Conor Hourihane recently extended his deal at the club.

Earlier this month, Manager John Sheridan brought back Argyle graduate Luke McCormick to strengthen his goalkeeping options and will be delighted to have retained the Pilgrims' first choice keeper of the last two seasons.

Speaking to the Argyle website, Jake Cole said: "I’m only 27, which is still relatively young for a goalkeeper, and really think that, if I continue to work hard, my best is still to come.”

The new contracts for Hourihane and Cole will encourage fans that the club are building solid foundations for their future ambitions for promotion after a nail biting fight against relegation last season.
