Plymouth Argyle have followed the capture of midfielder Hamza Bencherif, with the signing of Wolves defender Jamie Reckord on a three-month loan deal.

The Pilgrims' second transfer deadline day signing will provide a further boost to John Sheridan's squad in what is an important season for the club's future ambitions.

Reckford, like Hamza Bencherif, will be eligible to play in Tuesday's Johnstone’s Paint Trophy first-round tie at Cheltenham.

The 21-year-old left back, a product of Wolves' Molinuex Academy, has played international football at under-16 and under-17 level for England. He has spent loan spells at Northampton Town, Scunthorpe United and Coventry City.

His loan deal takes him up to and including the home derby game against Torquay United on New Year's Day.

He will wear the number 28 shirt.
