PLYMOUTH’S two-match Northern tour ended on a disappointing note with a 56-36 defeat at Newcastle on Sunday evening, writes Graham Hambly.

Skipper Kyle Newman showed a welcome return to form with couple of wins as he top scored with 14 points. He was well supported by Todd Kurtz, who had another good meeting with three wins in his ten-point return.

Unfortunately, the remainder of the team managed only 12 points between them. The Skills Group Devils went into the match with a six-man team.

Newcastle: Lewis Kerr 8+1 (4 rides), Anton Rosen 8+3 (4), Steve Worrall 13 (5), Christian Henry 3+2 (4), Ludvig Lindgren 12 (5). Reserves: Simon Nielsen 4+1 (4), Lewis Rose 8+1 (4).
Plymouth: Kyle Newman 14 (5), Jack Holder 3+1 (4), Ryan Fisher 4 (5), Todd Kurtz 10 (5), Morten Risager 3 (4). Reserves: Roland Benko did not ride, Sam Simota 2+1 (5).
