Murray faces big serving Janowicz for a place in the Wimbledon final
Andy Murray will walk out onto Centre Court this afternoon with the expectations of the nation once again upon his shoulders.
A year on from his first Wimbledon final against Roger Federer which ended in defeat and tears for the Scot, Murray will face the talented young Polish number 24 seed, Jerzy Janowicz in the semi-final. A second successive Wimbledon final is at stake.
There is no Federer this time round. There is no Nadal either. Murray's friend, Novak Djokovic, the world number one and number one seed is in imperious form and lurks in the other semi-final. Murray, perhaps emboldened by his incredible quarter-final fightback against Fernando Verdasco, will first have to overcome Janowicz who stands 6ft 8ins tall and serves at speeds of up to 140mph.
The 22-year-old Polish player will pose a serious threat but Murray, one of the best returners of serve in the game, has the all round game to take him through. However it may be wise to be prepared for another tense and lengthy encounter.
In the other semi-final, Djokovic plays the Argentinian number eight seed, Juan Martin del Potro who defeated David Ferrer in his quarter-final despite a knee injury. Djokovic is the strong favourite and would exploit any frailty in del Portro's fitness.
