Plymouth staged a mid-match revival to maintain their recent impressive home run with a sixth successive victory when they beat Workington 47-37 in Friday’s Premier League match at the St Boniface Arena, writes Graham Hambly.

The match was abandoned after 14 heats because of a sharp shower but the result stands with the Skills Group Devils taking the three match points with their 10-point win.

Workington had an early advantage with a 5-1 from Ricky Wells and Josh Grajczonek against Stuart Robson – guesting for injured Ben Barker – and James Wright in the opening race.

Plymouth eventually turned things around with a couple of 5-1 advantages in heats eight and nine.

Co-promoter Ashley Taylor admitted: "We allowed Workington to take the early lead and that left us with a bit of an uphill struggle.

"But we came through with a good all-round team effort. It is always easier to turn a meeting around when you have seven riders who are all making a contribution."

Plymouth: Stuart Robson 8 (4 rides), James Wright 5+1 (4), Kyle Newman 10+1 (4), Rasmus Jensen 4 (4), Josef Franc 7 (4). Reserves: Roland Benko 2+1 (3), Sam Simota 11+1 (5).

Workington: Josh Grajczonek 8+2 (4), Ricky Wells 7 (4), Rene Bach 5+1 (4), Mason Campton 8+1 (4), Kyle Howarth 6+1 (4). Reserves: Joe Jacobs 3 (5), Ben Hopwood 0 (3).
