PLYMOUTH rounded off their Premier League campaign with a home win at the St Boniface Arena on Friday evening, although their 47-43 victory over Ipswich Witches was not enough to maintain their interest in the Knock-Out Cup, writes Graham Hambly. 

The Skills Group Devils were beaten 65-25 in the first leg of the semi-

final a fortnight ago, so Ipswich booked their place in the final with a 108-72 aggregate victory.

Plymouth co-promoter Ashley Taylor said: "Ipswich are a top three side with scoring power throughout their team.

"It was nip and tuck throughout the evening and the 40-point deficit proved too much to pull back. But, at least, we had some consolation from winning the meeting on the night."

The result meant that Plymouth won their 10 th successive home meeting despite having Redcar’s Richard Lawson guesting for injured skipper Ben Barker and operating rider replacement for Rasmus Jensen.

Acting skipper Kyle Newman had three wins in his 12-point return while reserve Sam Simota top scored with 13 (paid 14) from his seven rides.
