Plymstock Albion Oaks Colts train at Twickenham
A group of 30 of the club’s age-grade players had the opportunity to play on the famous hallowed turf thanks to Mitsubishi Motors Nationwide ‘Train at Twickenham’ competition.
Plymstock Albion Oaks junior players followed in the footsteps of some of the greatest names rugby has ever seen by walking out at the home of rugby and taking part in a training session designed to help drive the ambition of the players hoping to join those names.
The day was hosted by England Rugby Performance Partner, Mitsubishi Motors, as part of their Access All Areas campaign, helping all those involved in the game to experience parts of the elite England set-up.
The Plymstock Albion players took part in a training session, designed specifically to test in-game thinking and showcase the importance of positive play in various match situations. The players were also able to experience the famous Twickenham pre-match walk-out with match day stadium announcer, Simon Ward delivering his usual rousing welcome.
Plymstock Albion Oaks player and coach, Lisa Pringle believes the day is sure to motivate and inspire their players for seasons to come.
“We never expected to win and couldn’t believe it when Mitsubishi Motors contacted us. Twickenham is such a magical sporting arena and for our players to get the opportunity to walk out on the Twickenham turf is very special. I have no doubt they will be inspired by the experience and I hope we can take that into next season”
