Rugby World Cup 2015 tickets to go back on sale

The remaining tickets from the September general sale for Rugby World Cup 2015 will go back on sale at the end of November.

The sale of around 300,000 tickets spanning 25 matches will take place in three stages, with priority access given to applicants that were unsuccessful in the ballot.

Stage 1 – Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 November – Ticket sale open to unsuccessful applicants from the September general sale.

Stage 2 – Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 November – Ticket sale open to partially successful applicants from the September general sale (applicants who did not receive all the tickets they applied for).

Stage 3 – Friday November 28 onwards – Ticket sale open to everyone.

The first stage of the sale will be split into two phases with the remaining tickets for Pool A and B matches going on sale on Monday November 24 and the remaining tickets for Pool C and D matches, along with the knock out stages, going on sale on Tuesday November 25.

Tickets will be sold in real time on a first come first served basis. Once matches are on sale, they will remain on sale until they sell out.

England Rugby 2015 Chief Executive, Debbie Jevans, said: “We were thrilled with the number of applications during the September sale, which saw record demand for Rugby World Cup tickets.

"Given the terrific response, and the fact that for many matches demand exceeded supply, we felt that it was only right that unsuccessful applicants get given priority access in this next stage of the sale.

"With tickets still available for 25 of the matches, there is still a great opportunity to watch some of the world’s best rugby teams and be part of Rugby World Cup 2015.”

The remaining tickets for the matches at nine of the Host Venues are available at a range of prices starting at £15. Eleven of the pool matches still have child tickets available which start at £7.

A limited number of tickets may come on sale for price categories at matches that previously went to ballot due to hand backs from the Rugby World Cup Limited commercial programme.

The only official resale platform for customers to sell any unwanted tickets to other fans at face value through the Rugby World Cup 2015 ticketing website will launch in Spring 2015.

A total of 950,000 Rugby World Cup 2015 tickets were sold in the September general sale, with record levels of demand for tickets for pool and knock-out stage matches. England Rugby 2015 received applications for more than five million tickets, leading to demand exceeding supply at every price category for 23 of the 48 matches.

Ballots were held for at least one price point in every one of the 48 matches. Sold out matches include England v Australia, England v Wales, the two quarter-finals at Twickenham, semi-finals and the Final.

Tickets are still available via the official travel (domestic and international) and hospitality programmes with official supporter tour package sales currently on track to break the record levels achieved for France 2007, underscoring the attraction of the event around the world.

The official hospitality programme is also tracking at record levels with corporate boxes sold out for all 10 games at Twickenham. In stadium hospitality is still available for all sold out games. More details on these programmes can be found at www.rugbyworldcup.com/ticketing.
