Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow make World 10m final
Plymouth divers, Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow have both qualified for the 10m platform final at the World Championships in Barcelona.
Couch finished in an impressive second place in the semi-final, scoring 368.15 points - an individual personal best. Barrow qualified in sixth place with 316.05 points.
It is the first time two British women have qualified for the same final.
"I seemed to be able to put everything together at the same time so I'm really pleased with myself," said Couch who looks to have a real prospect of a first World Championship medal.
She led the qualifying semi after scoring the highest points score of the day (83.20) but slipped behind China's Chen Ruolin after a slightly under par final dive
The pair were disappointed to finish out of the medal places in fifth place in the synchro diving on Monday, having been in the bronze medal position at one stage.
Barrow made an error on her fourth attempt scoring a low 33.75, but recovered well to proceed to the final which takes place on Friday.
