Williams and Djokovic through as rain forces Robson to wait

Wimbledon Day 5, Friday 28 June

After Wednesday's dramatic day of shocks, injuries and tumbling seeds, yesterday's Wimbledon produced no major surprises as both the men's and women's number one seeds progressed comfortably through their ties and into the third round.

Novak Djokovic beat American, Bobby Reynolds 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 6-1, while 31-year-old reigning champion Serena Williams defeated French teenager Caroline Garcia 6-3 6-2.

Britain's Laura Robson had to wait for her match against Colombia's Mariana Duque-Marino, after rain delayed play on No. 2 Court. She will now be first up on Centre Court today.

Andy Murray will face Tommy Robredo of Spain, who is seeded 32, later on Centre Court.

While Murray's half of the draw looks relatively weakened, the other half still boasts dangerous opponents such as Juan Martin Del Potro, Tomáš Berdych and Richard Gasquet - who all won yesterday - in addition to Djokovic.
