Your chance to join the Argyle Angels
The Argyle Angels, Plymouth Argyle's cheerleaders, are set to hold auditions for their squad for the Pilgrims’ 2014-15 season.
The Angels are an integral part of Argyle’s match-day experience, not only for their pre-game dance routine, but also for meeting and greeting fans, especially the youngsters in the Family For All Zone.
However, they are more than a match-day dance team and friendly faces: they are fully-fledged representatives of Argyle and are vital part of the club’s presence in the community.
This season, for instance, they accompanied the Pilgrims’ players on their Christmas visit to Derriford Hospital’s children’s wards; held popular cheerleading classes for youngsters as part of the Argyle Football in the Community Trust outreach; took part in the club’s Open Day; and were guests at the annual Sponsors Lunch.
Their valuable contribution to match-days at Home Park was recently cited by the Football League as being an important part in Argyle winning the League 2 Family Club of the Year Award for the second successive season.
The auditions take place at Plymouth’s Duke of Cornwall Hotel on Sunday, May 4, between 10.30am-2.30pm.
If you can dance, want to represent Plymouth Argyle in the Community, are over the age of 16, and are interested in becoming an Argyle Angel next season, pop along to the Duke of Cornwall on May 4, or contact Angels team leader Rae Moran on email at rmoran596@googlemail.com
