Ashfords LLP welcomes new Partners to their Plymouth office

Law firm Ashfords LLP has appointed two new Partners, James Heath and Gareth Pinwell, to its Plymouth office, enhancing its Real Estate and Planning offering to the City and the South West.

Real Estate lawyer, James Heath, has over 10 years experience of commercial property transactions and has been recognised in both Chambers, as a leader in his field, and Legal 500, where it is noted that he has “an excellent understanding of his clients’ business and the local property market”.

James who joined Ashfords on the 2nd January said: "I enjoy getting the job done, and achieving the clients' objectives, the opportunity to lead the Real Estate work in Plymouth, and be part of a team which has unrivalled strength and depth, was too good to miss".

James' experience covers a wide range of commercial property transaction matters, including freehold acquisitions, disposals and leases. He regularly advises on development agreements and has a particular focus on secured lending and investment/portfolio work. His recent work includes acting for the region’s pioneering Science Park on its fourth phase of development which provided an additional 24,000 sq ft of lettable area.

Gareth Pinwell joins the Planning Team with 20 years of experience of working in both the private and public sectors, as well as being Chief Executive at a District Council in mid Cornwall for 2 years.

Gareth says "I enjoy operating as part of a team of advisers that takes a project from inception to the stage where a start on site is made" and he recently acted for a developer on a large mixed use site in Cornwall that will deliver a retail food store, a public house, 2 restaurants, and approximately 270 houses, with an affordable housing element.
