Burglar challenged by elderly man

Police are seeking a burglar who was seen off by the elderly resident as he tried to get inside a Callington home.

The 85-year-old was in his living room when he saw the offender climbing in through the window.

He challenged the intruder who then fled through the front door without taking anything.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened around 11.30am on 3 April at a property near Haye Road.

They are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspect in the area at the time of the offence. He is described as white, tall and thin, and was possibly wearing a grey tracksuit.
