Back in November, Saltram House held the first night run in Plymouth and it was a roaring success; so the National Trust have decided to host another one in Plymbridge Woods on Saturday 7 February. The aim of these new events is to get people to experience special places in a different way by having a torchlight adventure with family and friends.

Plymbridge Night Run offers a variety of terrains including canal and riverside paths as well as woodland tracks. Runners will experience pure darkness under the canopy of the Plymbridge trees and may even see a deer along the way.

There are two courses to try out – the explorer (2K) which is perfect for families or groups and the adventurer (8K) for the more experienced. Included in the event is a glow in the dark medal and goody bag, free parking and a hog roast roll. Participants might also get the chance to see some nocturnal wildlife, including bats.

Charlie Keene, Sport Development Officer, says: ‘We are really excited about this event as it’s something different for Plymbridge and we really hope it will get the community engaged and excited about this very special place. Experiencing Plymbridge at night is totally different than in the daylight, so we hope it will bring a buzz of excitement to audiences old and new.’
