Plymouth Albion avoids administration
Plymouth Albion is pleased to announce that as a result of the success of their fund raising appeal the Club will not be entering administration.
Over £250,000 has been pledged from Friends of Plymouth Albion with sufficient funds already available in the bank to meet immediate requirements.
Further funds are still needed and are being sought but this is a major step forward as we continue to build a resource for next season.
There will be a meeting with Shareholders next Thursday 5th February where plans for the long term future, including the restructuring of the Board, will be presented.
Graham Dawe, who has been assisting recently, is appointed a Director. As Director of Rugby he will have full control of all rugby matters. He will work with James Shanahan, the coaches, and the team, all of whom are vital, to try and keep Albion in the Championship.
Also Peter Vosper and Roger Harris will join the Board immediately to assist in the interim, and make recommendations to the Shareholders at the meeting next Thursday.
The Club would like to thank all those who have already agreed to contribute to the fund. This has been a fantastic joint response from the shareholders, supporters, the business community and the local media to ensure the future of this great club. Plymouth Albion will continue as a major sporting contributor to the community and the City of Plymouth.
