BGT star opens Plymouth's Tamar pub
A special guest was the first to pull a pint at the newly refurbished Tamar on Moorshead Road recently.
Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Michael Collings, was invited to open the new-look Tamar on Monday 2nd February, following its £463,000 transformation into a Flaming Grill pub restaurant with a focus on providing great value steaks and grills.
The pub reopened last week, showcasing its flame grill inspired décor, new furniture and a new chargrill menu featuring steaks and grills, delivered on hot skillets that sizzle when served to bring a touch of theatre to the dish.
Michael Collings made a special appearance at the opening to pour the first pint and welcome locals into the new-look pub. A regular at the Tamar, Michael shot to fame in 2011 when he reached the live final of Britain’s Got Talent after wowing the judges in auditions with his soulful rendition of Tracey Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’.
General manager at the Tamar, Emma Richards, said: “We were honored to have Michael join us for the opening of the pub. He is a fantastic musician and singer and we are thrilled that he was able to attend the launch and perform for the guests.
“The opening has been a real success with great feedback from regulars and visitors alike on the delicious new menu and the fantastic interiors. My team and I look forward to welcoming more guests in the coming weeks.”
Flaming Grill is part of Spirit Pub Company which owns and operates around 800 managed pubs across the UK. Other brands in its portfolio include Chef & Brewer, Fayre & Square and Taylor Walker.
