Frame Your Train competition returns
First Great Western (FGW) has announced the return of the award-winning Frame Your Train competition – running throughout August.
It calls on passengers travelling on First Great Western trains to reach for their smartphone, snap a view from the window, and upload the image to Instagram using the hashtag #FGWFrameYourTrain. All entries are then uploaded to an interactive map, and showcased in an online photo gallery. It couldn’t be easier for all budding photographers out there to get involved!
Each week, for four weeks, a nominated judge will pick their ‘Photo of the Week’, which will be featured on the Frame Your Train website. Two pairs of standard class, return train tickets, for use anywhere on the First Great Western network, will be awarded to four winners of the interactive photography competition.
Frame Your Train celebrates and showcases the beauty of the South West – after all its home to some of the country’s most prized views and national treasures. From the rugged cliffs in Wales to the award-winning beaches and castles in Cornwall; visiting the South West should be on everyone’s holiday to-do list this summer.
The first and second Frame Your Train campaigns ran in 2014, and proved a great success. Winner of the Northern Digital Awards and nominated for the UK and European Search Awards, it was clear from the stunning entries, showcasing outstanding views and fantastic scenery along First Great Western routes, that there are plenty of talented photographers out there.
With 9,500 services a week to choose from, spanning Banbury to Bath and Pembroke Dock to Penzance, four lucky winners have the opportunity to become a great westerner; exploring the world renowned beauty of the South West.
