Devon-based PR consultancy Glen King PR established in 2005, celebrated its tenth anniversary with expansion of the team and a move to a larger city-centre office in the summer of this year. London-born David Greensmith, with over 40 years’ experience in engineering and construction has now joined the company as Business Development Director.

The company has worked with a diverse portfolio of clients across the region, including Plymouth-based Architects HLM, Gates Partnership, ADG Architects, Brewin Dolphin, Europcar, Process Electrical and Quickstore. With a vast knowledge and experience in his field of expertise, David will expand on the current services the consultancy provides. Across the South West, Glen King PR works closely within the construction industry and David Greensmith has committed to building on this specialist knowledge and in particular with regards to affordable housing.

Since joining, David has introduced new clients to the specialised renewable sector of the company. Starting in the New Year, the business has secured a lucrative five year retainer contract with Minus7, an innovative, renewable technology provider based on the Isle of Wight which provides low carbon heating and hot water with zero running costs.

Glen King – Director Glen King PR said: “I am absolutely delighted that David has joined our expanding company and he brings with him a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience. Over the last ten years, I have gained a specialist knowledge of the construction industry and David’s new appointment means that we can now build upon this sector of the business and move into renewable, sustainable and smart technologies providing low carbon energy solutions.”

In 2012 David, (former head of Aster Energy), orchestrated the founding of Carbon Savings Alliance (CSA) based in Portishead. CSA supported more than 70 Landlords and 800,000 homes, including social housing, local authorities, construction consultants and community groups. The consortium was established with the sole purpose to provide independent advice and support in delivering energy efficiency and carbon reduction to its customers. Since winning the National Award for the Residential Retrofit Project in 2013, David has been working closely with social housing landlords to effectively manage their carbon reduction planning and procedures.

David works closely with DECC (Department of Energy and Economic Climate Change) to ensure that both social landlords and local authorities meet the challenging energy and carbon targets set by Government.

David Greensmith – Business Development Director Glen King PR adds: “Glen King PR is a highly successful and leading PR and Marketing consultancy with an enviable portfolio of clients and a reputation for getting results. There is an area of cross-fertilisation within the client base, and with my extensive range of contacts, we look to grow this side of the business within the construction sector. I join the company at the start of an exciting new era with great plans for 2016 and beyond.”
