Plymouth woman wins national prize draw

It’s been celebration for local woman, Misty Bailey, who has been successful in winning a month’s free rent in a national prize draw that was run by estate agent, Your Move, in conjunction with the Corporate Client Department (CCD) of its parent company, LSL Property Services plc (LSL).

Misty, who privately rents a property in Plymouth, entered the prize draw following completion of a nationwide survey that was run by LSL CCD to gain an in-depth understanding of the UK’s Private Rented Sector (PRS) in 2016.

Distributed in January, the survey was sent to 36,500 PRS tenants, all of whom are renting their properties through two of LSL’s estate agency brands - including Your Move.

The survey results have provided a fascinating insight into the current PRS climate in the UK – highlighting the main reasons why people rent, their key requirements as tenants as well as reporting how the motivation and needs of renters differ based on their life stage – with the report even highlighting how happiness levels vary in each group identified.

Misty was picked at random from the huge list of entrants and was welcomed by her local Your Move team to their branch at 2 Mannamead Road, Plymouth to receive her prize from the Head of PRS for LSL CCD, David Bond.

Misty commented: “I was so shocked to hear I’d won the prize. It was totally unexpected but I’m so pleased I took part in the survey – not only because I won the prize draw – but because, by completing it, I’ve helped to highlight what tenants look for when renting a property which might help landlords as well as renters in the future.  It’s a great idea.

“I hope to put the money I’ve saved in rent this month towards a holiday and would like to thank the local Your Move team, as well as LSL CCD, for making this happen.”

David Bond added: “We’re delighted that Misty won the prize draw, amid competition from across the UK, and would like to thank her for taking part in our survey. Key highlights include:

• 81% of private tenants say renting suits their lifestyle
• 42% of residents see the restriction on creating their own space as their biggest concern
• 27% of those renting would pay an additional fee for High Speed Internet
• 61% of private tenants want an ‘online portal’
• 46% of respondents see the quality of the landlord as the most important factor when renting
