South West Classic Car Show comes to Redlake
Classic buses, cars and vintage vehicles to take over heritage building at Redlake – 23rd July 2016
Fundraising and income generating for the charity set up to help young people – The Eddystone Trust – continues at The Clay Factory, Redlake (5 minutes from Endsleigh) with yet more varied events.
Following the massive success of last year’s inaugural Christmas Extravaganza, which saw over 450 stallholders host some 3,500+ visitors, different types of events are being held throughout the year to encourage visitors to view the building as a hub for the community and a great event space able to facilitate everything from corporate functions, receptions, training days, craft and gift fayres, to motor shows and for 23rd July – a classic car show.
It will take place between 10am and 4pmon 23rd July and by contacting classic car enthusiasts and organisations around the country, the organisers are hoping the venue will prove a popular one for enthusiasts and fans for miles around.
“As it is the first time an event of this type has been held here, we are reaching out to many different organisations and asking them to help us spread the word”, said Annette Laurie of LEAP Events, who has been working with the charity since last summer. We are hoping that a car, of which it is one of only two in Great Britain, and belonged to the Landlord of The Clay Building until recently, will make a star appearance at the event – this is to be confirmed with the new owner.
“The Eddystone Trust is a fantastic Charity aimed at helping young people with varying issues, but since the credit crunch, raising funds and grants is ever harder. By using this gorgeous building in many different ways via its offices, artist’s workshops and galleries or indoor and outdoor event spaces, it is hoped that more people will come to know of this fantastic location, and come and visit. The history abounds here with boulders and stones coming from Brunel’s Bridge to build the whole building”
The event will be free to the public to attend with free on site parking.
Owners or groups with classic cars or vintage models and vehicles are most welcome to bring their precious motors for display and traders selling anything from motor and classic vehicle themed crafters and gifts, to spare parts and body painting businesses are encouraged to get in touch and book a space.
