Plympton Academy students enjoy adventures by the sea
Year 7 students from Plympton Academy spent three days in Bude recently on their first secondary school residential trip.
The youngsters had the opportunity to take part in a wide range of adventurous activities including, high ropes, kayaking, dragon boating, caving, surfing, mountain biking and body boarding, during their stay at Adventure International.
The aim of the trip was to allow students to gain a greater independence, improve team work and communication skills, take up challenges and try activities they have never done before and most importantly, have fun.
The 155 students were supported by Year 7 tutors, their Head of Year, and some members of the school’s Leadership Team.
“Everyone had a great time, learnt new skills, made new friends and enjoyed working together in teams,” said Plympton Academy Assistant Principal, Sarah Glover.
