Schedule announced for first Festival of Flavours at RHS Garden Rosemoor
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has unveiled plans for its first Festival of Flavours, a new ‘plot-to-plate’ extravaganza, taking place at RHS Garden Rosemoor from Saturday 1 – Sunday 2 October.
Celebrate the bounty of autumn by tucking into street food from around the world, picking up ideas from cookery demos, expert talks and garden tours, and shopping for treats in the food and craft market.
The ‘King of Big Veg’ and author Gerald Stratford will be giving a talk on growing vegetables and will tell his story of how he become a Twitter sensation after posting a picture of his home-grown potatoes. Following his talk there will be a book signing.
Chefs from Tineke Cooks will demonstrate how to make delicious autumnal dishes from ingredients that can be found in a hedgerow, guided tours of the Orchard will happen each day and an array of flavours from around the world will be available to taste from local street food vendors.
Bring in apples from your own garden for RHS resident apple expert Jim Arbury to identify, and for inspiration on growing your own, don’t forget to visit the Community Allotments to see what the ‘allotmenteers’ have been growing and find out how you can apply for your own plot for 2023.
Elsewhere get in the festival mood with live music, axe throwing, campfire cooking and more. Visit the website for more information: https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/rosemoor/whats-on/festival-of-flavours
