Police arrest Plymouth man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life
A 25-year-old man from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
The man was arrested at an address in the city yesterday afternoon (8 July). The arrest follows police investigations into a car fire on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred at some time just before 11.30pm on Sunday 7 July. A grey Ford Focus was set alight and destroyed while parked on a driveway on Southway Lane in the city.
The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attended to the car fire on Sunday night and believed it may have been started deliberately.
One fire engine from Crownhill attended. The fire was brought under control at 11.51pm and extinguished using one hosereel jet. The vehicle was severely damaged.
The man has been released on police bail until 16 September 2013.
