Plymouth man robbed at knifepoint in Stonehouse

Detectives are investigating after a Plymouth man was robbed at knifepoint in the Stonehouse area of the city.

The victim was approached by two men in Victoria Park who asked him for a cigarette. The man agreed but one offender then drew a knife while a second searched the victim’s pockets.

The pair then ran off towards Stonehouse with the victim’s wallet containing various cards and £140 in cash. The victim, aged 40, was not injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery which happened on steps leading into the park from Haystone Place, near to the bowling green, on Monday 22 July between 9.50pm and 10pm.

They are seeking two suspects who are described as white men in their early 20s.

The man carrying the knife was around 5ft 8ins tall with slight stubble and a spotty complexion. He spoke with a Liverpudlian accent. He was wearing long dark shorts, a dark Helly Hansen jacket with the hood up and a basball cap with ‘Obey’ written on it.

The second man was slightly shorter, had a thin build and was wearing shorts.
