Australian Cricket Captain, Michael Clarke, has been fined by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching the Code of Conduct in the first Ashes test.

Clarke was fined 20 per cent of his match fee for “using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International Match” the ICC has said.

Clarke was picked up on the stump microphone saying: “get ready for a broken f***** arm” to England’s James Anderson.

The charges were not contested and have been handled witout a formal hearing.

Meanwhile Jonathon Trott has left England’s Ashes tour due to “long-term stress related illness”.

The ICC has said that Trott will take a break from cricket for “the foreseeable future and will take no further part in the tour.”

They continued that “Trott’s return to cricket will determined in due course.”

Trott said: “I don’t feel it is right that I’m playing knowing that I’m not 100% and I cannot currently operate at the level I have done in the past.

“My priority now is to take a break from cricket so that I can focus on my recovery. I want to wish my team mates all the very best for the remainder of the tour.”

The decision by Trott comes after  his performance was mocked by Australian player David Warner who described his performance as “pretty poor and pretty weak.”

England Captain, Alastair Cook said of Warner’s comments: “I think the comment by David Warner was pretty disrespectful to any professional cricketer really.”
