Argyle 1 Yeovil Town 0: Match report

RYAN Brunt has not made loads of appearances nor scored stacks of goals this season, but he has featured in every Argyle game and popped up with some vital strikes, not least of which was his Boxing Day winner that maintained the Pilgrims’ lead of Sky Bet League 2.

He deserved to be the one to break stubborn Yeovil’s resistance as the gap between top and bottom was reduced to his...

Dagenham & Redbridge 1 Argyle 1: Match report

NOT for the first time this season, Ryan Brunt has shown himself to be the man to step up during injury time.

The Argyle forward, on as a half-time substitute, scored his second league goal of the season, with about 30 seconds remaining of three minutes of added on time, as Argyle rescued a point from a scrappy match at Dagenham and Redbridge. Brunt's only other league goal this season...

Argyle 2 Morecambe 0: Match report

THE gifted left feet of Graham Carey and Craig Tanner allowed Argyle to take another step forwards in this so-far glorious Sky Bet League 2 campaign, as goals from the pair put Argyle into a lead after a dozen minutes that they would never relinquish.

Carey's goal after a little more than a minute gave the Pilgrims the lead, and Tanner followed with a similar-looking, cultured, left-...

Argyle 1 Accrington 0: Match report

A goal by Reuben Reid worthy of winning a match of much greater import than the battle between Sky Bet League 2’s in-form teams kept Argyle three points clear at the top of the division.

The Pilgrims needed an unbeatable combination of Reid’s skill; dogged determination in the face of talented and organised opposition; and sheer, naked good luck to record a fourth successive league...

Notts County 0 Argyle 2: Match report

IF Reuben Reid's two goals against Notts County were given pet names, they might be christened Smash and Grab.

Grab would be the opener that Reid scored in the first half, turning smartly from his marker and firing into the corner, whereas his brother Smash would be named aptly as it smashed the hopes of a County side that controlled large swathes of the game without being able to...

Argyle 2 Crawley 1: Match report

ANOTHER game, another 2-1 win at Home Park - but this was a game quite unlike Argyle's earlier success at home this week.

After the stodgy display - but ultimate comeback success - against Barnet on Tuesday night yielded a 2-1 victory, as this game produced the same. But the performances were night and day.

Argyle toyed with a Crawley sided so desperately outclassed it...

Stevenage 2 Argyle 1: Match report

ARGYLE failed to pull off the same trick twice within a week – and to take advantage of rivals Exeter’s trouncing of Sky Bet League 2 leaders Leyton Orient – when they lost for the first time away from Home Park this season.

As they had four days previously at Wimbledon, they allowed their hosts the luxury of a two-goal lead, going behind to strikes from Connor Ogilvie and Chris...
