Youth Parliament celebrates local Heritage Heroes

Members of the UK Youth Parliament (MYPs) in the South West are celebrating an award of £20,600 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). The grant will be used to create an archive of films and recordings about people in the history of the South West who have campaigned for change in their communities and politics.

Two men detained after city centre BB gun shooting

Plymouth police have reported that at about 19:55 on Thursday 10th January 2013, a Plymouth City licensee reported that someone had shot at his front door.

Police firearms officers attended and two males were detained and a BB gun was recovered.

Police are still concerned for the welfare of 18-year-old Jamie Grewal, who has gone missing from the Ivybridge area.
