Plymouth College student Ruta Meilutyte has set a new world record for the 100m breaststroke in the World Aquatic Championships semi-final in Barcelona.
The 16-year-old Lithuanian set a new world best time of 1:04.35 on Monday 29 July to qualify for the final.

Ruta, 16, has thrown her weight behind the 2013 Ecover Blue Mile which takes place off Plymouth’s historic Barbican on 14-15 September.
