Cook up a Christmas storm in Kingswear at Manna from Devon Cooking School
Get ready for Christmas and learn how to make your own stollen, canapés and roulade with three new festive cookery masterclasses from the expert team at Manna from Devon Cooking School, based in Kingswear near Dartmouth in South Devon. The new courses on offer are a two day Christmas baking weekend (6th and 7th December, £250 per person), a one day Christmas canapé masterclass (6th December, £135 per person) and a Christmas Desserts course day (7th December, £135 per person).
Baker extraordinaire David Jones is offering the special two day Christmas baking weekend just in time to create some impressive foodie treats for the festive season. With only five people in the class, you’ll learn how to bake the best sourdough loaf for your Christmas breakfast and make the perfect rye bread to accompany smoked salmon.
“On the course you will discover how to prepare panettone - Milan’s great contribution to the Christmas table - and make Dresden’s response, stollen, which is best served with coffee and a small glass of liqueur,” says Manna from Devon’s David Jones. “We will take you on a global tour of the best of Christmas cakes and breads, plus the kids will love our recipe for delicious Danish pastries.”
David also shares the secrets behind his infamous rough puff pastry, ideal for mince pies, sausage rolls and cheese straws made with Quickes Traditional mature cheddar. Last but certainly not least, indulge with Manna from Devon’s chocolate roulade for a decadent Christmas log.
Alternatively, join Holly for a one day Christmas canapé masterclass to pick up some top tips for enjoyable, stress-free entertaining throughout the party season. Just six places are available, so there will be plenty of opportunity for individual questions and tailored tuition.
Holly will also be taking another six students through Christmas Desserts. Recipes range from sumptuous syllabub to sticky toffee pudding, the ideal alternative to traditional Christmas pudding. Commenting on Manna from Devon’s new Christmas dessert course, Holly says: “I’ll be demonstrating how to make seasonal desserts with a twist, including cranberry meringue roulade, chocolate and chestnut torte, and pomegranate orange and almond cake – all sure to become firm family favourites!”
As always, Manna from Devon courses only offer limited places on each course to ensure personal, small class sizes, so book early to avoid disappointment. Manna from Devon gift vouchers also make the perfect gift this Christmas – your loved one can enjoy learning new kitchen skills from the huge choice of courses on offer throughout 2015.
