Indulge in Luxury Single Malt Whisky

On Friday 18th October local spirits specialist, Azu Spirits, is once again bringing its exclusive whisky tasting experience to the Cridford Inn. Focusing on six high-end single malts together worth more than £1000, their luxury single malt collection aims to explore the very best of single malt whisky. Designed as a blind-tasting experience and hosted by Azu Spirits’ founder, Ellie Gibson, this offers a unique opportunity to delve into the rich history and science of Scotch whisky and discover what makes this famous spirit so renowned. 

Featuring Tobermory 24 Hebridean Series, Octomore 14.4, Glenfarclas 25, Edradour 21 Oloroso Cask, Laphroaig Elements 2.0 and Balvenie 21 Portwood, the six single malts have been carefully selected to showcase diversity. From Edradour’s rich, oily spirit created with traditional techniques in Scotland’s smallest distillery, to the powerful phenols and complexity created through Bruichladdich’s new-age scientific techniques in Octomore 14.4, a blind-tasting approach encourages an in-depth appreciation of the subtleties of aroma and flavour and introduces the challenge of deciding which is which before the big ‘reveal’ at the end of the evening.

Ellie Gibson launched Azu Spirits out of her love and fascination with Scotch single malt whisky and other premium spirits. Azu’s ‘themed’ blind-tasting gift sets and sharing boxes are designed to be enjoyed ‘at home’ and aim to capture and explore the diversity to be found in premium spirits. Their hosted events, presented as their signature blind-tasting experience with six numbered sharing bottles, information cards and wax-sealed ‘reveal’ envelope, take you on a journey through the history, science and stories of the distilleries featured. 

Tickets are £70 per person and the tasting starts at 7pm on Friday, 18th October.
