Reece Shearsmith, co-creator of The League of Gentlemen, Psychoville and one of the stars of A Field in England will be introducing the film and taking a Q & A session after the screening of Ben Wheatley’s fourth feature film.
Amid the Civil War in 17th century England, a group of deserters flee from battle through an overgrown field. Captured by an alchemist, the men are forced to help him search to find a hidden treasure that he believes is buried in the field. This is a psychedelic trip into magic and madness in a remarkable film that can trace its lineage back to the best British horror films of the 60’s and 70’s, The Wicker Man, The Witchfinder General and Blood on Satan’s Claw.
