Exhibition by Barry Kelly : Far Horizons : Above the Salt
Summer means different things to each of us. For some it is a time to escape, to forget the humdrum routine of everyday life, pack the bags, round up the dogs and children, and head for the beach – or the hills! - for a few weeks of sun, fun and frolics. For others it is a more reflective time; a time to heal, to restore, to let nature take over and return our bodies and minds to good health, ready to face the challenges that lie ahead.
In this year’s exhibition at The Brownston Gallery Barry presents a collection that particularly portrays the nurturing aspect of summer in the South Hams, capturing the unique nature of this beautiful area which never fails to lift the spirit and heal the soul.
His paintings are full of light, sun and warmth but they are also full of hope and an appreciation of the world around us, creating a sense of inner peace and calm. Within this collection, you will discover serene scenes of calm skies, where billowing clouds dance gracefully in hues of pinks and coral. The peaceful seas beckon you to immerse yourself in their soothing embrace, offering a moment of escape from the tumultuous tides of life. Low tide beaches reveal treasures of their own, inviting you to wander along their shores, feeling the warmth of the sand beneath your feet. This beautiful exhibition will transport you to a realm of serenity and tranquility.
The exhibition has been sponsored by Tropic Breeze, an award winning, local travel company specialising in holidays to the Caribbean, the Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles.
The Launch Party is being held on Saturday, 5th August from 2-5pm and is being kindly supported by Hattiers Rum. Everyone is welcome!
