Violinist Rebekka Hartmann has won several national and international prizes and performed as a soloist with the Nürnberger Sinfoniker, the Philharmonic Orchestra Klausenburg and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra. In 2012 she gave her debut at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall with the violin concerto by Karl Amadeus Hartmann. Her latest CD “The Birth of the Violin”, (Naxos) with rare solo works by Geminiani, Biber & Guillemain etc. won the Echo Classic Award 2012 for the best solo recording of the year.

Rebekka plays an Antonio Stradivarius from the year 1675.

Caroline Bergius specialises in chamber music courses for young instrumentalists in Germany and on the Isle of Berneray, Outer Hebrides. Rebekka Hartmann often took part in these as a child. In June 2011 Caroline Bergius was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz for her services to music by the former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Christian Wulff.

Caroline Bergius was awarded the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2011 for her services to youth and music.
