The Broadway welcomes community support team
On Saturday 10 March The Broadway shopping centre helped support Plymstock shoppers by hosting a local advice clinic in collaboration with the Devon and Cornwall Police.
Supported by Trading Standards, Plymstock City Council and Age Concern, free advice and confidential consultation was given throughout the day, providing shoppers with direct access to information on a variety of topics from safety and security to support available in the local area.
The Broadway Shopping Centre Manager, Mark Berry, said: “Our local community is always at the heart of everything we offer.
“The shopping centre is a hub for the community and we’re proud to be able to help by joining forces with the Devon and Cornwall Police.
“It was a fantastic day and everyone who attended found the help they needed, which is exactly what we all aimed to achieve.”
Rachel Ward, Sergeant at Devon and Cornwall Police, went onto say: “We’re so grateful for The Broadway for providing the opportunity to really connect with the Plymstock community.
“It is vital to build a relationship with the people we serve and alert them to any potential issues which could affect them personally or professionally.
“We will definitely host another community event with The Broadway in the coming months and hope to see as many of you there as possible!”
