Expert advice for innovative SMEs
The Government is offering small and medium-sized high-tech companies free workshops to support their growth.
The workshops organised by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) will highlight the government support available for cutting edge companies.
A range of tax incentives, grants and other support offered to help companies develop new technologies and industries could save local businesses money.
“Innovation lies at the heart of our culture. British ideas and inventions have helped shape our world, from the telephone to the World Wide Web” said Carol Lunney, HMRC Assistant Director of Business Tax.
“The UK has the largest creative sector per head in the world. These workshops are designed to ensure our high-tech SMEs get the help they need to help them invest in research and development and innovation”
The workshops offer a good opportunity to get more information about research and development (R&D) tax credits and the Patent Box tax incentive, led by HMRC and EU funding available for R&D projects.
There will also be information about government sponsored grants and support for businesses which produce technological improvements and innovation.
