Gold Dust Appeal benefits from coffee morning

A coffee morning was held last week at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Plymouth, where members of the public generously donated to the Gold Dust Appeal.

In October 2014, several members of staff from the branch joined in for the ‘Walk for Wards’, which took place at Saltram House, raising money for Gold Dust.

After the event, their manager, Ann Baker, invited Jenny Aspland, Fundraising and Development Manager, to host a coffee morning for staff and customers. Jenny said: “It was lovely to meet everyone who came into the branch today.

Everyone from Gold Dust would like to thank Ann and her team at the Royal Bank of Scotland for their kindness and hospitality and for offering to support the Gold Dust Appeal until the end of the year. “We offered coffee, tea and cakes to the public and this gave us a great opportunity to speak to their customers and the general public about the Gold Dust Appeal.

It also gave us a chance to talk to parents about the children’s art competition that we are currently running.”

An art competition has been set up to capture ideas from children and young people on what they would like to see on the walls and spaces throughout the Children and Young People’s level at Derriford Hospital.
