Dog owners across Plymouth, the time has come to celebrate your happy healthy hound and enter this year’s search for the Lean & Tasty Fittest Dog in the South West.

Butcher’s Pet Care is calling for entries from Plymouth in its first competition to find fit dogs from across the South West.

The regional winner will be entered into a national final and be in with the chance of winning the title of Fittest Dog in the UK and will be awarded with a £1000 holiday voucher, in addition to a year’s supply of Butcher’s Lean & Tasty dog food.

Clare Scallon from Butcher’s Pet Care comments: “We want to celebrate all of the happy and healthy dogs in Plymouth and reward them. We’re not looking for agility experts, we’re looking for dogs who simply love running around the garden, never tire on their daily walks, may have put on weight previously but have managed to shed the pounds, or are full of vitality with a real love of life and a constantly wagging tail, even an older dog who still behaves like a puppy. All of these types of dogs meet all the criteria we are looking for in this year’s Lean & Tasty Fittest Dog in the UK competition. I’d like to encourage all dog owners in Plymouth to enter now to be in with a chance of being crowned the champion.”

The Butcher’s team and dog expert Mike Mullan will look through all the entries and select ten regional finalists (one from each region across the UK) who will be invited to a special judging day in April 2014, where the national winner will be selected.

The winner of Fittest Dog in the UK will be awarded with a £1000 holiday voucher, in addition to a year’s supply of Butcher’s Lean & Tasty dog food. Lean & Tasty delivers a delicious complete meaty dinner for dogs with 30% less fat* and contains the natural supplement L-Carnitine, to help convert fat into energy, thereby promoting lean body mass. Butcher’s will also reward all regional finalists with a special treat for their dog!

To enter, visit www.butcherspetcare.co.uk/competition, upload a photo of your dog and tell us why they deserve to win.
