Teddy Bear's picnic set to be best ever
The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge is holding a Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Thursday 14 August from 10am to 2pm.
Visitors are invited to bring their teddy and a rug and and enjoy a delightful picnic with the donkeys, with prizes for the “best” bears!
Teddies will compete for the prestigious titles of “most loved bear” and “best dressed bear”. Games will include ‘name the bear’ and ‘teddy tombola’.
Winnie won’t be there but the adorable adoption donkeys Pooh and Eeyore both love picnics and being made a fuss of and will be there on Thursday to meet visitors.
There will also be donkey cart rides, face painting, fun ‘parachute games’, guinea pigs to pet and a bouncy castle.
Paula Betts, centre co-ordinator, said: “Last year’s picnic was so much fun and its going to be even better this year! We love to meet all the different bears which are brought along and learn about their different names and the stories behind them. Children and teddies can have a donkey cart ride together and get stuck into the parachute games in the afternoon. We look forward to seeing you and your teddy on Thursday.”
Children’s tickets are £6, to include a special teddy bears’ picnic lunch and a donkey cart ride. Adults tickets are free, with food and sandwiches available to buy from the kitchen. All funds raised will go towards our work in the UK and worldwide.
Tickets must be booked in advance. Please call The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge on 01752 690200.
