ENT consultant appointed new Non-Executive Director at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust
NHS Improvement has appointed Professor Hisham Khalil as a Non-Executive Director at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, with effect from Wednesday 1 August 2018.
Professor Khalil is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon who has been in post with the Trust since 2004 and is the Dean of the University of Plymouth’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
Richard Crompton, Chairman of University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome Professor Khalil to our Trust Board as a Non-Executive Director. He will bring immense experience and skill to the Board and will play a central role in helping us realise our full potential as a University Hospital.”
Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by NHS Improvement are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
Hisham is the University’s nominated Non-Executive Director on the Trust’s Board and has been appointed from 1 August 2018 until 31 July 2020. He is entitled to receive a remuneration of £6,157 per annum. He has declared no political activity in the last five years.
