Fire crews tackle flat blaze in Plymouth
Fire crews were called to reports of a blaze at a property in Clowance Street in the Mount Wise area of Plymouth shortly after 5pm today (3 June).
As the first pumps arrived on the scene, crews requested a make up to five appliances, due to flames issuing and reports of persons still within the property.
First informative at 17:33: Crews at work with two breathing apparatus, one main jet and a safety jet, with the fire breaking through to the roof
17:51: Request from Incident Commander to make pumps eight. Breathing apparatus increased to six. Crews using two main jets, one hose reel, a thermal imaging camera, the aerial ladder platform and a safety jet. With the incident sectorised.
18:40: Crews at work, now with an additional two breathing apparatus, and four jets.
Local Council, gas and Electricity representatives all on scene
21:26: Fire fighting jets reduced to three with the aerial ladder platform. There are still a large number of Fire Service vehicles on scene, assisting with ongoing firefighting action.
Crews remained on scene overnight.
