Hundreds of pounds stolen in city centre purse snatch

Police in Plymouth are appealing for information after a woman had a purse, containing a large sum of cash, snatched in the city centre.

The incident took place on Frankfurt Gate at around 11.05am on Thursday 24 October 2013.

The 40-year-old victim was carrying her purse which contained around £600 as she planned to buy stock for her business.

A man snatched the purse from her hand and ran off.

The suspect is described as being in his mid to late 30s, of medium build, around 5ft 8in tall and with short, dark greasy hair.

He was originally wearing a grey zip-up hooded top which he discarded after running away from the scene. He was then seen wearing a white shirt featuring blue square lines.
