Police are hoping to trace a ‘Good Samaritan’ who helped the victim of an assault in Plymouth.

Investigating officers are appealing to members of the public who may have been near to the junction of Bearsdown Road and Eggbuckland Road on Sunday 23 February between 12.50am and 1.05am.

The victim, aged in her 50s, was helped by a man who was carrying a takeaway and who helped her to get a taxi home.

She was not seriously injured but was shaken up and traumatised.

Police would like to speak with the ‘Good Samaritan’ who waited with the victim until the taxi arrived.

Police would also like to speak with anyone else who may have been walking or driving in the area of Eggbuckland Road at that time and who may have seen the victim or any vehicles parked up with hazard lights on.

Anyone with information is asked to please call police on 101 and ask for DC Kev Lawson at Crownhill CID, quoting EL/14/861 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
