On the 15th August Plymouth City Centre will play host to the city’s first White T-shirt day, which aims to raise vital funds for Derriford Hospitals’ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Shops and businesses across the city centre will come together wearing plain white T-shirts to work on the 15th August – each donating £1 to NICU.

Volunteer business across the city, Plymouth’s “High Street Champions” will be organising the event, hoping to raise £20,000, much needed funds for vital equipment for the NICU Unit.  The High Street Champions really want to encourage every retailer in Plymouth City Centre to get involved.

James Clarke the Marks & Spencer’s representative for the High Street Champions said of the project: “It is fantastic that all of the shop staff and business people based in the City Centre will come together as ‘one city’ for this worthy cause.

"We are very excited to wear our plain white T-Shirts with pride on the 15th August and hope that as many members of the public who, choose to join in, do.

"A variety of shops across the city centre, including Santander, M&S, Barclay’s, Boots and some of our Independents will be taking part in the event with lots of fun fundraising activities for customers.”
