Four arrested after report of gunfire
Four men are in police custody on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent in Plymouth.
Police received a number of reports in the early hours of this morning (Monday 1 August) of what was thought to be gunfire in the Plympton area of Plymouth.
Police also received calls from the public claiming that youths were letting off firecrackers in the area.
Police and the NPAS helicopter attended Boringdon Park where four people were located and a Ford Transit van; the men subsequently fled the area.
Localised searches took place, supported by the police dogs and four men were located and detained at around 1.50am in Cundy Close.
All four men aged 18, 16, 16 and 14 were arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent.
No weapon has been recovered.
