Got the itch? Almost a third of Plymouth residents feel they’re more adventurous than their partner
Holidaying solo looks set to increase for those from Plymouth, as 31% consider themselves bolder than their partner. Over half (56%) described themselves as adventurous, with 21% believing they’d actually become more so as they’d gotten older.
According to the Adventure Report by comfort-insurance.co.uk, award-winning insurer for campervans, motorhomes and caravans, when it comes to holiday choices over half of those living in Plymouth (51%) wished they were more adventurous, second only to Newcastle nationwide. Across the UK, it seems keeping up with their social media peers could be a pressing issue for the young; a huge 72% of 18-24s wish their holidays were more adventurous, whereas almost two thirds of over 55s (65%) are perfectly happy with their travels.
Independence and exploration are big factors in holiday choices for Plymouth’s population, with 44% saying they’d be keen to road trip in a leisure vehicle, citing the freedom to travel freely to different places as the most appealing factor. The research also revealed we are staying fitter and more active for longer, with action sports such as hiking, surfing and climbing ranking in the top contributing factors to a holiday’s adventure rating across age groups.
Throughout the UK, women seem to be putting more pressure on themselves to push themselves out of their comfort zone, with 59% wishing they were more adventurous, versus 48% of men.
