Local housebuilder donates £1,000 to Sherborne Food Bank
A local housebuilder, Persimmon South West, has made a donation of £1,000 to the Sherborne Food Bank as part of its Community Champions initiative.
The donation was recently marked by a visit from Rob Clark, Land & Planning Director for Persimmon South West, to the Food Bank's Depot at South Western Business Park.
Rob Clark presented the donation to Sally Baxter, Depot Manager, and David Kemp, Chair of Trustees, to support the Food Bank’s ongoing efforts to provide emergency food delivery within a 78 square mile area around Sherborne.
The Sherborne Food Bank plays a crucial role in addressing food poverty and hunger in the local community, delivering essential support to families and individuals in crisis.
David Kemp, Chair of Trustees at Sherborne Food Bank, expressed his gratitude, stating:
"This is enormously helpful to ensure that the weekly delivery of food to the doorstep of those in need can be achieved by the various volunteer teams on a dependable basis.
“We benefit greatly from the generosity of individuals, businesses, groups, churches, and schools, and this is a welcome donation from Persimmon Homes, which will support our ongoing work in the local community.”
Commenting on the donation, Rob Clark, Land and Planning Director for Persimmon South West, said:
"We are very pleased to support the Sherborne Food Bank in their vital work in the local community.
“We hope this donation will help ensure that families and individuals in need receive the necessary food and support during difficult times.
